Dorothy Siegel

Opelousas Funeral service for Dorothy Dot Naomi Siegel, age 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas on Friday, July 30, 2010, followed by interment in the Hebrew Rest Cemetery in Opelousas.

Ms. Siegel who was a native and resident of Opelousas, died at 9:08 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Opelousas General Health System.

She was very active in the community, having been a past president and a member of the board of directors for 30 years with the Opelousas Area Cerebral Palsy Clinic, a member of the Opelousas Little Theatre, past president of the Temple Emanuel Sisterhood, past president of the Desk n Derrick Club of Lafayette, a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Doctors Hospital and a member of the Elks Lodge 1048 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a nephew, Gary Sanderlin and wife Carol and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Ida Anselm Siegel three brothers, Harold, Louis, and Sidney Siegel and two sisters Selma Friedman and Theresa Sanderlin.

Visitation began on Thursday, July 29, 2010, from 5:00 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 11:00 a.m. on Friday until service time.
