Dorothy Sanders

Funeral services for Dorothy Dot Sanders, age 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs, followed by burial in the Church Cemetery. The Reverend Chad Bolfa will conduct the services.

Mrs. Sanders, who was a resident of Krotz Springs, died on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Dot and her husband owned and operated the Big Alabama Campground for over 15 years. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Sanders of Virginia Beach, VA stepson, Randall Sanders of Lottie, LA stepdaughter, Betty Wilson of Georgia eight grandchildren, John Douglas Ray and wife Bridget, Christie Ray Ducote, Jason Sanders, Justin Sanders, Wesley Sanders, Melinda Sanders, John Sanders, and Michael Sanders seven grandchildren and her faithful companion, her dog, Miss Goldie.

She is preceded in death by her husband William George Sanders her parents daughter, Della Mae Ray, and infant twin great grandchildren.

Visiting will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs beginning Monday, April 9, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
