Dorothy Hooks

Krotz Springs- Funeral service for Dorothy Mae Hooks, age 81, will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2008 in the 1st Baptist Church of Krotz Springs, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Chad Bolfa will conduct services.

Ms. Hooks who was a native of Kaukakee, Illinois and resident of Krotz Springs, died on Friday, September 26, 2008 at her residence.

Survivors include her son Randy E. Hooks of Krotz Springs; daughters, Ida Fay Hatfield of Irvington, Alabama, Judith Elaine Polotzola and Roma Gayle OBrien both of Krotz Springs; a brother, Floyd E. Matthews of Indianapolis, Indiana; 8 grandchildren, Sabrina Ellis, Natache Reeves, Raneill Cortez, Walter Peck, Gene Gerace, Shane Peck, Travis Gerace, and Randy Peck.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Willie Hooks, parents William Henry Matthews and Lillian Bayless Via Matthews; two brothers, William H. Matthews, Jr. and Robert E. Matthews and a sister, Mary Louise Burroughs.

Ms. Hooks pallbearers will be Walter Peck, Gene Gerace, Shane Peck, Travis Gerace, Randy Peck, and Philip Ellis.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs beginning on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 5:00- 10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday until time of service.
