Dorothy Dupre

Washington - Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, for Ms. Dorothy Deshotel Dupre in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Ms. Dorothy, age 89, was a native of Oakdale and a resident of Washington. She passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at her residence. She was a previous member of First Baptist Church of Port Barre.

Ms. Dorothy enjoyed picking pecans, canning, and cooking. She took special care in raising and taking care of her children, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Benjamin Carol Dupre and wife, Marie Leger Dupre of Leonville; and Jeff Bradley Dupre of Washington; daughter, Sheryl Anne Dupre Fogleman and husband, Robert of Gonzales; brothers, Huey Deshotel and Ashabel Deshotel, both of Houston, TX; sister, Mabel D. Meyer of Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Baptiste Dupre; her oldest son, Johnny Dupre; and parents, Sidney Deshotel and Dora Toubre Deshotel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.
