Doris Bourque Johnson

Opelousas – Graveside services will be held for Doris B. Johnson on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pastor Donald Ray Ford and Minister Gene Ford will conduct the service.

It is with deep sorrow we regretfully announce the passing of Doris B. Johnson, age 95, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at her residence.  She passed at home peacefully with her daughter and grandson by her side.

Doris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Opelousas, taught Sunday School and leadership roles in Girl’s Auxiliary.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and served as the Worthy Matron, of Opelousas, La., and Les Dames d ‘Tude.  Doris also enjoyed baking, cooking, and sewing.  She was a kind person and loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen Haynes of Opelousas, La. and Lisa Judice and husband, Glenn of Nederland, Texas; her sister, Evelyn Wilson and her husband, Reverend Fred Wilson, of Mobile, Alabama.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian Haynes of Opelousas, La., and Kerrie Judice of Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, V. B. Beasley and Mamie Welch Beasley; her first husband, Rodney Bourque; her second husband, Chester Johnson; her son-in-law, Kenny Haynes; one brother and three sisters.
