Dora Morrow

MELVILLEA Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Dora Polotzola Morrow, 84, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Reverend James Nguyen will officiate.
Mrs. Morrow, a lifelong resident of Bayou Current, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at her residence. She was a retired employee of the St. Landry Parish school system, an avid traveler, graceful dancer, country music enthusiast, doting matriarch, and devout Catholic. These descriptions, however, cannot fully express what Mrs. Morrow meant to her family and her friends. She will be missed in measurements they cannot yet comprehend or convey.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Savage of Bayou Current her daughter and soninlaw, Barbara and Scott Duplechain of Port Barre and her son and daughterinlaw, Jerry and Nola Artigue Morrow, of League City, Texas. Survivors also include five grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, six stepgreatgrandchildren, one greatgreatgrandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Morrow was the last surviving child of Anthony and Lucy Soldano Polotzola. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband of 50 years, Tony J. Morrow her brothers, Carlo, Steve and Frank Mike Polozola her sisters, Jennie Yander Thibodeaux and Sarah Mol and a greatgranddaughter, Abigail Lynn Morrow.
Mrs. Morrows family would like to thank her devoted caregivers who gave so much of themselves to ensure her comfort during the past two years. Also, the support of Hospice Care of Avoyelles Parish, especially Zach David, Latisa Malveaux and Vonda Soileau, was invaluable.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
