Dora Latiolais

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Dora Lee Wimberley Latiolais, age 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will celebrate the Mass.

Dora, a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Opelousas General Health System.

Mrs. Latiolais was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and an adorer of the Our Lady of Mercy Adoration Chapel. She was a beautician during her early life. She raised her four sons and enjoyed her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren during her later years. She was a devout Catholic with a strong devotion to the rosary. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jacques J.E. Emile Latiolais of Opelousas, La. her sons, Keith Latiolais and wife, Linda of Opelousas, La. Donny Latiolais and wife, Patricia, of Independence, La. Kelvin Latiolais and wife, Ramona, of Mandeville, La. and Kent Latiolais of Opelousas, La. and her sister, Mattie Martin of Opelousas, La. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Curtis and Dora David Wimberley seven brothers, Dave Lou Lee, Percy, Woodrow Mack, Pershing Pete Harold and Harris Wimberley four sisters, Lydia W. Stelly Una W. Theriot, Isabelle Kat W. Thibodeaux and Azalie Deanie W. Darbonne.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
