Dora Allenday

Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Dora Allenday, age 88, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012, in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, Louisiana officiated by Pastor Dave Beverly.

A loving mother, sister, and grandmother, Dora Allenday of Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 5:20 a.m. in Houston, Texas. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mom I can never say goodbye to you because I could never bear the pain, instead I say I love you mom, until we meet again.

She is survived by her daughters, Elsie Rabalais and husband, Sherrel, of Houston, Texas Mary Ann LeBert and husband Phillip, of Hayes, Louisiana Linda Smith, of Nicholson, Mississippi her sons, Lawrence Allenday, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Pearland, Texas Johnny Allenday and wife, Michelle, of Lake Charles, Louisiana and her brother, Alex Landry of Hessmer, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Allenday her parents, Leo and Rosa Landry her sisters, Wilda Quebedeaux, Pearl LaGrange, Bernice Thibodeaux and her brothers, Willis Landry and Wilson Landry.

She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great greatgrandchildren that she loved dearly and brought her great joy.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, Louisiana on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Allenday Jr., Johnny Allenday, Sherrel Rabalais, Phillip LeBert, Joey LeBert, and Cody LeBert.

The family gives a special thanks to Theresa Sonnier of Opelousas and Maria, Rhonda, Irma, Imelda, Lydia, Candice, Tlinde and all the staff at Kindred East Healthcare ICU of Houston, Texas for the special care given. It was greatly appreciated.
