Donald Hebert

Opelousas A celebration of life will be held for Donald Wayne Hebert at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, July 12, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Deacon Sammy Diesi will lead a rosary at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Hebert, age 65, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Donald was a graduate of Opelousas High School and attended Nichols State College on a tennis scholarship. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years. After returning home from the Navy he attended and graduated from USL and LSU Law School. He then practiced law in St. Landry Parish and served as District Judge for the 27th Judicial District from 1999 until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Paula Fisher Hebert, of Lafayette, LA his son, Donald Wayne Donnie Hebert II, of Lafayette, LA his sister, Deanie Ryder, of Fredericksburg, VA three grandchildren, Allie Michelle LaCombe, Marion Joseph Hebert and Donald Wayne Don Hebert III.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Zoder and Mary Lou Bergeron Hebert and by his brothers, Ray Hebert and Reginald Hebert.

The family requests that donations be made in Donalds name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
