Donald Doga

December 16, 1942 — April 5, 2012

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Wayne Doga, age 69, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum in Opelousas, La. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu and the Reverend Monsignor Jeff DeBlanc will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mr. Doga, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Opelousas General Health System South Campus in Opelousas, La.

Donald was a retired St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court, a member of the Knights of Columbus 3409, the Louisiana Clerk of Courts Association, Ducks Unlimited Association and was a former board member of the St. Landry Parish Community Action. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Donald was compassionate and always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra Sylvester Doga, of Opelousas, La. his sons, John Johnny Wesley Doga, II and companion, Myrna Benoit of Leonville, La. Don Donnie Louis Doga, III of Opelousas, La. his daughters, Stacey Deville and husband, Jan, of Sunset, La. and Donna Lalonde and husband, Torrey, of Leonville, La. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Matthew Doga, John Brandon Doga, Adalyn Deville, Jana Deville, Kirsten Lalonde, Gracie Lalonde and Tanner Lalonde.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura Fuselier Doga his sister, Eva dAugereau, his grandson, Rusty Doga his greatgrandson, Blaze Paul Doga and his father and motherinlaw, Harold and Helen Cary Sylvester.

Gift bearers will be his 4 granddaughters and readers will be Liz Johnson and Kay Christ.

Pallbearers will be his sons, grandsons and soninlaws. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Richard Tate, Judge Aaron Frank McGee, Judge Ellis Daigle, Marion Harmon, Watson Champagne and James Gary Goose Fontenot.

Musical selections will be provided by Mona Prejean.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday by Reverend Austin Leger followed by the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Opelousas General Health System, St. Landry Extended Care Hospital of Opelousas General Health System South Campus and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care LHC Group. Also a very special thanks to Dr. Richard Tate, who not only was his doctor but his dear friend.
