Diane DeJean

A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, beginning at 8:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Father Joshua Guillory will conduct the Mass. A private burial with immediate family will take place at the family plot in Opelousas, Louisiana. 

Diane DeJean, a pillar of education and a cherished member of her community, departed this earthly realm on January 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication, artistry in teaching, and an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. 

Diane was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in education, she furthered her education with a master's degree in education from Louisiana State University. Throughout her career, she served not only as a teacher but also as an assistant principal, and ultimately, a principal. She was named Vermillion Parish Principal of the Year in 2005.

Diane found joy in many pursuits beyond her professional endeavors. Her enthusiasm for life was matched only by her love for family and friends, with whom she spent countless hours creating treasured memories and connections that would last a lifetime. She enjoyed hiking, and embraced the vitality of exercise, often participating in exercise classes with a joyful spirit.

Diane is survived by her two brothers, Scott DeJean and Kent DeJean.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Raymond and Joyce DeJean.
