Desiree was a loving wife and mother to not only her children, but everyone she met. A nurse and owner of Moss Street KidMed for 24 years. Everyone who knew, and loved Desiree knew she was feisty, festive, and fun! She had a heart of gold. She was a fighter, a lover, bougie and a little country. She was the hostess with the most(est). She loved to sing, and she absolutely loved to dance. To know her was to love her. A stranger she never met, and there wasn’t a heart she didn’t touch!
Survivors include her beloved husband of 26 years, Dean Edmond Richard; her three children Brody Prudhomme of Baton Rouge, Victoria Smith and husband, Matthew Smith, of Carencro, and Blaire Richard and husband, Dillon White, of Sunset. She is also survived by her parents, Larry and Josie Prudhomme; her two sisters, Leslie Prudhomme Dubbs and Michelle Landry and husband, Emery Landry; her two brothers, Drew Prudhomme and Brandon Prudhomme and wife, Breanna Prudhomme; her Godchild, Kennedi Dubbs and several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her paternal grandfather, LG Prudhomme, her step-grandfather, Hubert Richard; her paternal grandmother, Octavia Jones Prudhomme Richard; her maternal grandfather, Roosevelt Daigle; her maternal grandmother, Octavie Smith Daigle; her Godfather, Daniel Daigle and her best pup, Baxter Richard.
Desiree’s memory will forever remain in our hearts as we cherish the moments spent with her. She was a beacon of light in our lives whose spirit will continue to guide us. As we say goodbye to Desiree in this physical form, let us remember the love she shared with us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
