Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Stelly, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the St. Landry Catholic Church. Reverend James Brady will conduct the mass. Interment will follow the services at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Mr. Stelly, age 64, died on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his residence in Opelousas, LA.

Mr. Dennis loved watching his New Orleans Saints football. He also enjoyed spending time with his loving family and caring friends.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elsie Darbonne Stelly of Opelousas, LA; his daughter, Denise Stelly Lafleur and husband Timmy of Opelousas, LA; his son, Scott Joseph Stelly and wife Rhonda of Opelousas, LA; his brothers, Jim Stelly and wife Virginia of Opelousas, LA, Louis Stelly and wife Geraldine of Opelousas, LA, and Robert Stelly of Texas City, TX; his sisters, Gurcie Vidrine of Opelousas; and Eva Arnaud and husband Ronald of Marrero, LA; and his 4 grandchildren, Shelby Lafleur, Landon Lafleur, Justin Stelly and Syndey Stelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, DonaDieu and Ida Lejeune Stelly; his sisters, Mary Joyce Stelly Taylor, and Lillian Stelly; his brothers, Percy Stelly and Jessie "Buck" Stelly.

The family has requested visitation be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Scott Stelly, Justin Stelly, Timmy Lafleur, Landon Lafleur, Richard Stelly and David Taylor.
