Dennis Prudhomme

Lawtell - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Dennis Prudhomme, age 60, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery. Reverend Ted Broussard will officiate the service.

Mr. Prudhomme, a resident of Lawtell, LA, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Dennis was a great and loving father, son and brother. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, cooking for his family and friends, especially when they were cheering on his favorite team, the New Orleans Saints. Dennis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dennis is survived by his sons, Kyle Prudhomme, Damien Prudhomme and fiancé, Cora Leblanc of Lawtell; his daughter Paige Prudhomme of Lawtell; former wife, Mona Miller of Lawtell; his mother, Norma Prudhomme Cortez and husband, Linus of Opelousas; his brothers, Bert Prudhomme and friend, Connie Fontenot of Opelousas; Paul Prudhomme and wife, Cheryl of Lawtell; Carl Prudhomme and wife, Sheila of Port Barre; his sister, Ann Warren and husband, Blake of Sunset; his godchild, Ethan Warren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Makalia McKinney, Cadence McKinney, Kyle Drake Prudhomme, II, Hunter Drake Prudhomme, Brayden Prudhomme, Colby Fontenot and Saige Fontenot.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Prudhomme.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Bill Pollingue. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
