Denise Bertrand

Prairie Ronde Funeral services for Denise Ann Bertrand will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend David Fultz will conduct the services.

Denise Bertrand, age 54, was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Lafayette. She died on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Lafayette General Medical Center.

Denise was a nurse by profession and is described by her family as a people person and a nurse that deeply cared for her patients and continued to care for them after their recovery. She often became good friends with the patients that she cared for. Denise enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers and plants. Her family meant the world to her and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her fiance, Rick Auler of Lafayette mother, Virginia Bertrand of Opelousas son, Russell Christopher Charrier and wife Alishia Stoutes Charrier of Opelousas daughters, Shannon Charrier Stewart and husband Donald of Port Barre and Tara Charrier of Opelousas brothers, Lenard Bertrand and wife Priscilla and Blaine Bertrand all of Opelousas grandchildren, Aaron Lowe, Camille Stewart, Kyle Sylvester, Harli Charrier, Gage Charrier, Gabrielle Bordelon and Russell Charrier.

She is preceded in death by her father, McGuffey Bertrand and a grandchild, Johnathan Bordelon.
