Delphine Richard

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Delphine Del Noel Richard, age 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Richard, a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Opelousas General Health System.

She was known by all as Maw Maw Richard. She loved her family and everyone she met. She loved life, enjoyed helping to raise her grandkids, attending Mass and her Bingo games. Maw Maw will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Glenn Richard and wife, Tammy Bourque Richard, of Washington, La. Patrick Dale Richard and wife, Jerilyn Hidalgo Richard of Opelousas, La. and her sister, Ora Noel Malorin of Arnaudville, La. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Samantha Richard Trahan, Jesssica Lyn Richard and Macy Elizabeth Richard and 3 greatgrandchildren, Abrianna Tarazona, Lynli Richard and Caroline Trahan and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashton James Richard her parents, Marshall Sr. and Angela Landry Noel her brothers, Angelius Topan Noel Elus Dick Noel Marshal Noel, Jr., Claudius Noel, Angelo Jay Noel her sisters, Birdie Noel Tuck, Laura Mae Noel Benoit and 2 grandchildren, Charles Glenn Richard, Jr. and Zachary John Richard.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
