Church Point A Mass of Christian Burial for Dawn A. Mayer, age 32, will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Church Point, La., followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Monsignor Jefferson DeBlanc will be the celebrant of the mass.

Readers will be Cynthia Joubert and Iris Badeaux. Musical selections will be performed by Shannon Devillier and Glen Faul.

Dawn, a native of Opelousas and resident of Church Point, La., passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Church Point. She was previously employed by the St. Landry Parish Sheriffs Department.

Dawn loved life and was good with children. Everyone she came in contact with loved her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her parents Sandi and Blaine Joubert of Church Point, La. her maternal grandmother, Thelma Devillier, of Opelousas, La. her paternal grandmother, Marie Joubert of Church Point, La. her sisters, Kelly Mayer and Halie Joubert both of Church Point, La. and Miranda Housley of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her Godchildren, Hunter Devillier, Andre Richard and Kaylee Stelly.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Walter Devillier her paternal grandfather, John Joubert and her cousin, Travis Menard.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Devillier, Richie Badeaux, Jared Badeaux, Nick Badeaux, Tibby Figueiredo and Donavan Joubert. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Devillier and Andre Richard.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
