Davis "Jim" Breaux

A Mass of Christian burial for Davis “Jim” Breaux will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 22, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. Rite of committal will follow in the St. Anthony Mausoleum. Reverend Michael Deblanc will conduct the Mass.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed by Reverend Michael Deblanc on Monday afternoon at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. until service time.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Davis ‘Jim” Breaux, age 97, who passed away on Friday November 18, 2022, at J Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville, La.

Jim owned and operated Jim’s Grocery Store in Krotz Springs for many years. Jim loved attending musicals and live shows especially at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans. He was a dance instructor and an avid gardener. Jim also enjoyed pushing cattle along the Atchafalaya River. He was an active member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his nieces, Davalyn Boudreaux, Michelle Deville and her husband, Randy Deville, Frankie Laporte and her husband, Spencer Laporte, Jessi Boudreaux, and Skylar Laporte. He is also survived by his nephews, Christopher Boudreaux, Chett Deville, Alan Snyder and his wife, Ashley Snyder, Griffin Snyder and his wife, Kylie Snyder.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Davis James Breaux and Corine Artigue; his sisters Marion Breaux, Joyce Stafford, Dorothy Perroux and her husband, Claude Perroux; his niece Anita Cottano; his nephew, Drew Perroux.
