David Glenn Richard

Opelousas - It was Glenn's request that his family gather for a private memorial to honor his life. Military honors will be rendered at that time.

Mr. Richard, age 72, a resident of Port Barre, LA, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Opelousas General Health System.

David was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country proudly in Vietnam.  He was a carpenter all his life and loved playing the drums.  He enjoyed talking on the phone checking on family and friends or just to say he loved them.  He was a loving father, brother and grandfather.  David will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Kevin David Richard and wife, Lynda, Bryce Lane Richard and wife, Sadie; his daughter, Angie Richard Carriere and husband, Sammy; his brother, Ronald Richard and wife, Cathy and his sisters, Lynda Fontenot and husband, Ralph "Shawee" and Patsy Curtis.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wyatt Carriere, Jacelyn Richard, Tyler Crisp, Gabriel Crisp and Gianna Crisp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Lena Martin Richard and his siblings, Dudley Paul Richard, Jimmy Richard, Bobby Richard, Eugene Richard, Delores Madden, Shirley DeCapo and Roy Richard.
