David Menard

Opelousas - A funeral service will be held for David Wayne Menard, age 54, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery, LA. Brother Perry Hubbs will conduct the funeral service.

Mr. Menard, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital.

David enjoyed fishing, doing carpentry work and watching football on TV. David loved playing music as a D.J. and was affectionately known as "Dynamite Dave". He was employed by the State of Louisiana as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Annette Richard Menard, of Opelousas, LA; his mother, Mary Zula Benoit Darbonne of Swords, LA; his daughters, Valerie Elaine Menard and fiance, Chett Deville, of Krotz Springs, LA; his brothers, Harold James Menard and wife, Carolyn, of Ville Platte, LA; John Larry Menard and wife, Lisa, of Church Point, LA; Robert Jude Menard of Ville Platte, LA and his sister-in-law, Glenda Stelly Moreau, of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by one granddaughter, LeAnne Deville and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Henry Menard and his brother, Mervin Menard.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
