David Artigue

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for David Scott Artigue at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Reverend James Brady will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Artigue, age 52, a former resident of Sarasota, Florida and current resident of Opelousas, LA, died on January 18, 2015 at his residence after a brief bout with cancer.

David was a graduate of Opelousas Catholic School and later received his Master's Degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University. David enjoyed traveling, scuba diving and spending time at the beach. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his brothers, Robert Lee Artigue and wife, Billie, of Opelousas, LA; Joseph Ricky Artigue and wife, Wanda, of Scott, LA; his sisters, Barbara Artigue Fontenot, of Opelousas, LA and Jacqueline Artigue Bordelon and husband, Gene, of Lafayette, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lee and Vivian Emonet Artigue; his brother-in-law, Rene Fontenot and his niece, Kristie Artigue.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
