Danielle Eve Johnson Blake, age 48, passed away on January 7, 2025, at her residence in Carencro, Louisiana. She was born on February 14, 1976, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Danielle lived a life full of love, creativity, and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Danielle Blake will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana. Father Tom Voohries will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 6:30 pm by Deacon Bill Pollingue. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday.
The pallbearers will be John “J.J.” Johnson, Braxton Ardoin, Alec Joubert, Wyatt Johnson, Nathan Guillory and Carter Snyder. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Joubert, Patrick Lanclos and Bobby Vidrine.
Danielle proudly served in the United States Navy, exemplifying her commitment to her country. After her military service, she dedicated her time to being a homemaker and taking care of her children. She enjoyed volunteering at Goodwill in Carencro, LA, making a positive impact in her community. Danielle pursued her passion for health care by studying to become an Ultrasound Technician at Unitech Training Academy.
Her life was rich with interests and hobbies. Danielle embraced her creativity as a DIY queen, expressing herself through various crafting projects. She had a profound love for animals, considering her dogs as her children. A poet at heart, she found joy in writing, often sharing her thoughts and feelings through verse. Her love of nature showed in her passion for gardening, where she enjoyed tending to her plants and arranging flowers. She also cherished adventures and traveling that included cruises and camping trips in her camper.
Danielle was known for her thoughtful, compassionate, and loving personality. Her ability to make others feel valued and cared for was a hallmark of her character. She enjoyed taking pictures and collecting memories, always keeping snacks in her purse to share with family and friends.
Danielle's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, George Albert Blake, of Carencro, La.; her mother and step-father, Deborah Lanclos Vidrine and Bobby Gene Vidrine, of Ville Platte, La.; her father, John "Johnny" Wilton Johnson of Lafayette, La.; her paternal grandmother, Roberta Thibodeaux Johnson, of Opelousas, La.; her son, Braxton K. Ardoin, of Opelousas, La.; her daughters, Aubriana York of Eunice, La., and Alexia Ardoin of Opelousas, La.; her sister, Trista Joubert, of Ville Platte, La.; her brother, John Wilton Johnson, III and wife, Ann, of Jarreau, La.; her brothers-in-law, Alexander Blake, of Lafayette, La., and Col. Robert Blake of Japan; her sister-in-law, Caroline Orgeron of Lafayette, La.; her mother-in-law, Elana Trahan, of Lafayette, La.; her father-in-law, Carol John Blake, of Columbia; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gervis Lanclos and Laura Mae Fontenot Lanclos; her paternal grandfather, John Wilton Johnson; and her uncle, Bobby Ortego.
Danielle was a proud member and parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Carencro, Louisiana, which provided her with a strong sense of community and belonging. Her legacy of love, creativity, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
