A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM for Dallas Barron, Jr. on Friday, March 23, 2018, at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rite of Committal will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend James Brady will Celebrate the Mass.
Mr. Barron, age 67, a resident of Leonville, LA, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Dallas was a longtime member of the Opelousas Elks Lodge #1048. He enjoyed playing cards and watching LSU and New Orleans Saints football. Dallas will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Anita "Penny" Reed Barron of Leonville; his son, Dallas Barron, III of Leonville; his daughter, Jeanne Alyce Barron Hajenga and husband, Tony, of Katy, Texas; his brothers, Alton Ray Barron and wife, Shirley; John Alvin Barron and wife, Ann; his sisters, Audrey Barron Lanclos and husband, Ronald; Mildred Barron Morgan and husband, Ricky; Eva Barron LaBorde and husband, Burnell and Emma Jean Barron Leger and husband, Elvin. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Lily Hajenga and Logan Hajenga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Barron, Sr. and Amy Jannise Barron.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Thursday evening by Reverend Ken Domingue. The funeral home will reopen on Friday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
Pallbearers will be Dallas Barron, III, Tony Hajenga, John Barron, James "Butch" Barron, Lindsey Lee and Henry Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law.
