Cyril Diesi

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Cyril James Diesi, age 62, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Reverend James Brady will celebrate the Mass. Readers will be Brandon Diesi and Becky Diesi. Gift bearers will be Sarah Michelle Diesi, Linda Diesi Cornette, Myrna Diesi and Rachel Diesi Stari.

Mr. Diesi, a native and resident of Opelousas, LA, died on November 15, 2015.

Cyril loved his children and his family dearly. He loved his mama's spaghetti. He was a fan of blues and classic rock music and loved dancing to Zydeco and Cajun Music. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Lance Michael Diesi, of Lafayette, LA; his daughter, Sarah Michelle Diesi of Anchorage, Alaska; his brothers, Sammy Diesi and wife, Becky Faul Diesi, of Opelousas, LA; Charles Diesi and wife, Myrna Doucet Diesi, of Opelousas, LA; his sister, Linda Diesi Cornette and husband, Eldon, of Opelousas, LA; his niece Rachel Diesi Stari and five nephews, Chris Diesi, Eric Diesi, Brandon Diesi, Wells Cornette and Spencer Cornette.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Diesi and mother, Bernice Stelly Diesi.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday by Deacon Sammy Diesi.

Pallbearers will be Lance Diesi, Brandon Diesi, Eric Diesi, Charles Diesi, Chris Diesi, Eldon Cornette, Spencer Cornette and Wells Cornette.
