Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Cynthia Soileau at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, La. Reverend Gary Schexnayder will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Soileau, age 58, a native of Opelousas, La. and a resident of Baton Rouge, La., died at 10:04 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2014.
Cindy had a profound and deep spiritual love for the Catholic Church. She enjoyed listening to conservative radio, reading, watching LSU Athletics and the New Orleans Saints. She was a 1977 graduate of USL where she received a Bachelors of Science Degree in medical records. Over the years she worked for the LSU Health Sciences Department and Baton Rouge General.
Cindy was a wonderful aunt who loved to spend time with her nieces, nephews and her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, coworkers and all who knew and loved her.
Survivors are her brothers, Charles Ray Soileau and wife Gayle of Baton Rouge Christopher John Soileau and wife, Lisa Chiasson Soileau of Denham Springs and Creighton Carl Soileau and wife Rhonda Thedford Soileau of Baton Rouge her sister, Connie Soileau Loupe and husband Rene of Baton Rouge her nieces and nephews, Charles Bryant Soileau, Claire Susanne Soileau, Chad Michael Loupe, Brett Matthew Loupe, Cody Christopher Soileau and Lindsay Elizabeth Soileau Hernandez and husband, Devin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Paul and Evelyn Duplechain Soileau.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, May 20, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge 7808 St. George, Baton Rouge, La. 70809 and will continue at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be her brothers, Charles Ray Soileau, Christopher John Soileau, Creighton Carl Soileau, Rene Loupe, Chad Loupe, Mike Parastar and Charles Bryant Soileau.
