Curtis Kevin Poling was called to the Lord on September 1, 2007 at the Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. following a brief illness. Kevin was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on January 31, 1960 to J. Howard and Virginia Poling. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Johns Poling.

He is survived by his father and step mother, J. Howard and Willadeen Parsons Poling of Ripley, West Virginia, sisters, Aleta Ruark of Phoenix, Arizona, Karen and her husband Doug Weber of Pickerington, Ohio and Jeanne Carmichael of Florence, South Carolina, seven beloved nieces and nephews, and his fianc , Misty Bertrand, and her daughters, Starla and Laura of Melville, LA. Kevin was employed by St. Landry Parish District 5 Road Commission. Kevin attended First United Pentecostal Church of Melville, LA. and the Landmark Pentecostal Church in Lafayette. He will be sadly missed by his family and the friends he made in Louisiana.

The family is grateful for the assistance from his niece, Trisha Granger, R.N. of Raleigh, North Carolina and appreciates the tender and professional care extended to Kevin by the staff of Lafayette General Medical Center. The family has been profoundly touched by the acts of kindness experienced from the Louisiana community.

The family invites you to participate in honoring Kevin and celebrating his life. Visiting hours will be 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday September 4, 2007 at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville, LA.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Kevins fianc, Misty Bertrand, and her children for immediate expenses.
