Opelousas – Funeral services will be held for Mr. Cody Lee Woodson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  Bro. Joel Murrah will officiate the service.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cody Lee Woodson, age 38, on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at his home in Crowley, LA.  He was a native of Opelousas and was currently residing in Crowley.  He was a forklift operator at Doug Ashy in Lafayette and had previously worked at Supreme Rice Mill in Crowley for several years.

Cody cherished his time with his wife, his family and especially spending time with his children.  He loved cooking meals for his family.  He was a devoted husband, a caring father, brother, and son.

He  is survived by his wife of 3 years, Tiffany Hanchett Woodson of Crowley; his mother, Jessica Richard Woodson of Leonville; three sons: Markell Lazard of Crowley; Jace Woodson of Opelousas; and Kylen Theirry of Crowley; five daughters: Taylor Theirry of Crowley; Marhye Woodson, Nyah Woodson, Joy Woodson, and Chloe Woodson, all of Opelousas; three brothers: David Woodson, Jr. of Opelousas; Bruce Anthony “Tony” Woodson of Leonville; and Johnny Woodson and wife, Spring of Opelousas; his mother-in-law, Carol Rosette and companion, Benjamin Chapman of Opelousas; father-in-law, Henry Hanchett of Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Christina Hanchett of Opelousas; three brothers-in-law, Justin Hanchett of Church Point; Zion Shine of Houston, TX; and Travis Hanchett of Opelousas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Woodson, Sr.; his sister, Dana Marie Woodson Leger; his paternal grandparents, Elie Woodson and Rena Lalonde Woodson; and his maternal grandparents, Francis Richard and Irene Guidry Richard.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for the public in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.

Pallbearers will be Joey Thomas, Levar Babineaux, Johnny Woodson, David Woodson, Jr., and Markell Lazard.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jace Woodson.
