Co Nguyen

Dealt with a series of unfortunate events, she never once let that keep her from leading a life filled with love, faith, and strength. She single-handedly raised and was the glue to our family for many years. Her love for her family will never be outlived. Her favorite activities were gardening, praying, or waiting to see her family. Even when she was not feeling her best, she still put her family first and always was concerned with their well-being before her own. She passed away peacefully in her home on Monday morning, September 26, 2016. We are deeply saddened but are with great joy that she will be joined with her missed loved ones and is no longer in any pain or suffering.

She is survived by her sons, Sang Nguyen and wife Chung Ho, Huynh Nguyen and wife Tam Tran, her daughters Xieu Nguyen and husband Hung Trieu, Nga Nguyen and husband Thanh Uong, Thuy Nguyen, Phuong Nguyen and husband Toai Tran, and Tham Nguyen and husband Hoan Dang; her brothers Sen Nguyen and Lanh Nguyen and Truc Nguyen and wife Mai Cao; her sister Phuoc Nguyen and husband Deo Nguyen. She has 25 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Trung Nguyen and daughter Yen Thi Nguyen, her father Chanh Nguyen and mother Day Nguyen.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. for the last visitation. Funeral Services will be at St. Anthony Catholic at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Green Oaks Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Trieu, Anthony Trieu, Jimmy Uong, Denny Uong, Jerry Uong, Timothy Nguyen, Kevin Nguyen, and Francisco Nguyen.

Our family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all who sent prayers, thoughts, and condolences.
