Melville Funeral services for Clyde Duvall, age 71, will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Pentecostal Church. The Reverend Ray Majors will officiate the services.
Mr. Duvall, a native of Woodside, LA and longtime resident of Melville, died on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 1:25 a.m. at Point Coupee General Hospital.
He is survived by two daughters, Bridget Ponthieux of Livonia and Charlotte Duvall and husband, Robert Merrell, of Baton Rouge; brothers, Pervice Duvall and Virgil Duvall, Jr., both of Melville; his sisters, Nattie Naquin, Linda Flechter, and Geneva Phillips, all of Melville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jake Ponthieux, Phillip Duvall, Travis Dewayne Duvall, Tonya Deville and Ashley Duvall and three great-grandchildren, Phillip Duvall, Jr., Alexis Duvall and Travis Duvall, Jr.
Mr. Duvall was preceded in death by his wife, Edrena Rodriguez Duvall; a son, Travis Dale Duvall; his mother, Ruby Duvall; his father, Virgil Duvall, Sr. and his brother, Cecil Duvall, Sr.
Visiting hours will be observed in the First United Pentecostal Church Hall of Melville, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be: Phillip Duvall, Sr., Travis Duvall, Sr., Jake Ponthieux, Ricky Naquin, Robert Merrell and Derwin Duvall.
