Funeral services will be held for Clovis "Poppa Cole" Cole, age 90, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016, in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will conduct the funeral service. Burial will take place at First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cole, a resident of Krotz Springs, LA, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in Scott, LA.
Clovis was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII where he fought in the European Theatre. He then retired from the oil and gas industry. Poppa Cole enjoyed farming, tending his garden, John Deere tractors and canning his own vegetables. He loved God and his family very much. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. He was loved by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Renee' Muse and her husband, John, of Lafayette, LA; his daughters-in-law, Carol Williamson of Watson, LA; Linda Bond of Jonesboro, LA; 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, F.A. Cole; his sons, Gary Cole, Ronny Cole and his parents, William Luther Cole and Nora Lee Conn.
Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be John Clovis Muse, David Cole, Tommy Cole, Gary Cole, Brandon Cole and Luis Carranza.
