Clinton Meche

Opelousas A Funeral service for Clinton J. Meche, age 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend James Brady will conduct the service.

Mr. Meche, a resident of Carencro, La., died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Evangeline Oaks Nursing Home in Carencro, La.

He served his country during WWII as a Private First Class in the American Division A Company 164th Infantry. He earned a Purple Heart on May 21, 1945, 3 Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, one Victory Ribbon and four Overseas Service Bars during his service.

He worked in Bristol, La. most of his life until he retired and moved to Beau Sejour Estates in Carencro, La. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include three nephews, Kevin Meche of Sunset, La. Ricky Meche of Youngsville, La. Chase Meche of Scott, La. his five nieces, Sherily Meche Carroll of Sunset, La. Diane Miller Dautreuil of Lafayette, La. Shelly Meche Stelly of Scott, La. Amy Meche Alleman of Scott, La. and Karen Meche Domingue of Lafayette, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovent and Amy Benoit Meche one sister, Anna Lee Miller of Lafayette, La. his three brothers, Ewell Meche of Lafayette, La. Ferddy Meche of Opelousas, La. Verlis Meche of Scott, La. and his two nephews, Rowdy Meche of Carencro, La. and Ronald Meche of Opelousas, La.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Thursday, April 12, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Pallbearers will be his nephews Ricky Meche, Kevin Meche, Perry Dautreuil, Ike Carroll, Brent Dautreuil and John Irvin.
