Cliff Sandoz

Opelousas - Funeral Services for Cliff E. Sandoz will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Lafayette. Reverend Brandt Montgomery will officiate the service. Burial will follow at a later date. A reception will follow services in Coughlin Hall.

Cliff Sandoz, age 52 and a resident of Arnaudville, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his residence.

Cliff was raised in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he attended and graduated SFA with a Bachelors Degree with a major in political science and a minor in English. His teaching career began in Houston, but he moved home to Nacogdoches and taught at Nacogdoches High School, and then he move to Lafayette where he continued teaching. Cliff had a passion for teaching and loved seeing his students succeed. He loved traveling with his family and friends. He loved helping those in need. Those of us that were blessed to know him loved him, and he loved us in return with a selfless love that comes only once in a lifetime. Cliff will be greatly missed by those he touched during his too brief a time with us..

He is survived by his partner of 23 years, Farriel Knott; twin brother, Robert Sandoz; and many loving friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John R. Sandoz and Helen I. Price Sandoz.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Cliff's name to The ASPCA, St. Jude's Children Hospital or Episcopal Church of the Ascension.
