Opelousas- Funeral services for Mrs. Claudette Dixon McMillan, 67, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at St. John Chapel in Lewisburg, followed by interment in the Chapel Cemetery.

The Reverend Blair Sabaricos will officiate the services.

Mrs. McMillan, a native of Oakdale and longtime resident of Lewisburg died on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Opelousas General Health System.

Claudette McMillan was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother

and will sadly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. McMillan was survived by her husband, William Ray McMillan of Opelousas; 3 daughters, Cheryl Higginbotham and husband Gene of Lewisburg, Tammy Thibodeaux and husband Fred of Lewisburg, Rayleen Vasseur and husband Brian of Lewisburg; a brother, Glen Dixon of Oklahoma; two sisters, Bearnice Lejeune of Opelousas and Louise Laird of Arnaudville; 12 grand children and 7 great-grandchild.

Mrs. McMillan was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Dixon and Minnie Lambright Dixon; a daughter Linda Faye McMillan; four sisters, Margaret Johnson, Shirley Cahannin, Pauline Dixon, and Dorthy Dixon Barque; five brothers, Wallace Dixon, William Thomas Dixon, Jr., Johnny Dixon, Ira Geno Dixon, and Tommy Dixon.

Visiting will be held at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, October 13, 2007 from 3:00-10:00pm and will re-open at 7:00am on Sunday. A rosary service will be held at 7:00pm on Saturday.
