Clarence Gobert

A Mass of Christian burial for Clarence Gobert will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallett, LA (8348 Hwy 190). Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery. The Reverend Gregory Simien, will celebrate the Mass.

The family will receive guests at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 8:00 until a rosary service at 10:00 a.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins.

Clarence was born in L’anse Aux Pailles, LA on September 10, 1939, and died on September 1, 2021.

His family cherishes the fond memories of Mr. Gobert doing what he loved, cooking and tending to his sizable and bountiful vegetable gardens. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ellavert Thibodeaux Gobert; sons, Clarence John Gobert, Darryl Joseph Gobert and wife Jane and Kevin Matthew Gobert and wife Alysia; daughter, Mary Gobert; brothers, Nolan Gobert and wife Theresa and Morris Gobert and wife Orelia; sister, Juanita Gobert; grandchildren, Paralee Frances Gobert, John Paul Gobert, Derrick Gobert, Danielle Jones, Tina Johnwell, Durel Gobert, Maggie Ann Fuselier, Elijah Paul Gobert, Jr., Trenton Gobert and Christian Gobert; 12 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Gobert Sr. and Felicia Rougeau Gobert; sons, David Gobert, Elijah Gobert and Daniel Gobert; brothers, Paul Gobert, Jr., Lawrence Gobert and Felician Gobert and his sister, Florence Mose.

Pallbearers will be Darryl Gobert, Kevin Gobert, Trenton Gobert, Durel Gobert, Derrick Gobert and Elijah Gobert, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence John Gobert, Christian Gobert, Raymond Gobert and Kevin Johnwell.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring nurses on the 6th floor at Lafayette General Medical Center, Opelousas General Health System,the staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Michael Burrell, and Dr. Farshid Yazdi.
