Chester O'Connor, Jr.

Krotz Springs Services for Chester Joseph OConnor, Jr., age 66, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs with Reverend Chad Bolfa. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. OConnor, a resident of Melville, La., died on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas, La.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his sons, Mark OConnor and wife, Lynn, of Port Barre, La. Ronnie McDaniel of Gonzales, La. his daughter, Melissa OConnor Smith and husband, Wayne, of Krotz Springs, La. his brother, Ray OConnor of Krotz Springs, La. his sisters, Mary Devillier of Krotz Springs, La. Gail Duvall of Krotz Springs, La. Charlene OConnor of Krotz Springs, La. Maglene LeJeune of Maringouin, La. Darlene Barker of Krotz Springs, La. Elvina Stermer of Melville, La. Mona Pierce of Krotz Springs, La. and Geneva Hudson of Krotz Springs, La. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Emily OConnor, Matthews OConnor, Shelly Smith, Tiffany Smith, Derek Smith, Justin Smith, Seth Smith, Mikey OConnor, Victoria Simon, Brooklyn Simon, Kensey OConnor, Taylem OConnor, Brandon OConnor and 8 greatgrandchildren, Hayley Smith, Trenton Smith, Braylon Beard, Gavin Veillon, Chase Chaisson, Brennen Smith, Ethan Breaux and Amelia Breaux.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shane OConnor his parents, Chester Joseph OConnor, Sr. and Ella Mae Dupuis Stermer his brothers, Pat OConnor, Kermit OConnor his sister, Rose West and his special friend, Dorothy Sanders

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs, beginning on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
