Cheryl Linda Moseley

Cheryl Linda Moseley, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 72. She was born on August 26, 1951, in Opelousas, Louisiana.

Cheryl was a devout Catholic and greatly respected Padre Pio and Mother Teresa. She was a long-time parishioner of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. From the early to mid 1980's, she was the first woman to be a part of the Cursillo Retreat. Later in life, she was an active member of the Cursillo Center in Prairie Ronde with Father Jerome Fry, where she gave guidance to the youth.

Cheryl was a remarkable woman known for her incredible cooking skills. She delighted in feeding her family and friends with her mouth-watering dishes. Her talent in the kitchen brought joy and comfort to those who tasted her creations. Cheryl's culinary prowess was just one reflection of her generous and nurturing nature.

In addition to her passion for cooking, Cheryl enjoyed fishing as a way to unwind and connect with nature. She also found delight in playing video poker and indulging in her favorite video game Zelda. Another treasured pastime of hers was playing cards with loved ones, where she embraced the opportunity to engage in friendly competition and create lasting memories. Cheryl also was a foodie. She loved traveling and eating at different places on the road. 

Family meant everything to Cheryl—a sentiment that was reciprocated by all who had the joy of knowing her. Her compassion and devotion were evident in every aspect of her life. Cheryl's warm heart extended beyond her immediate family to embrace a close-knit circle of parents, friends, and siblings who meant the world to her.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband Dan Ray Moseley, of Opelousas; her daughters: Angel Marie Fusilier of Opelousas, Theresa Ann Pia Turner and her son's father, Danny of Burlington, Vermont, and Mary Elizabeth Pia Stevens and husband, Shane of Scott; her grandchildren, Isabella Grayce Fusilier, Logan Torsten Ichigo Turner, Sydney Shayne Stevens, and Sophia Elizabeth Pia Stevens. She relished every moment spent with her family and delighted in watching them grow, providing unwavering support as they embarked on their own unique journeys.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Versie Guillory; sister, Jennifer Guillory; brothers, Don Guillory, Johnny Guillory, and Ted Guillory; and her son-in-law, Simon Fusilier.

Beyond her family circle, Cheryl made a significant impact as a board member for 15 years with the Creators-Canvas Cancer Research Foundation. Her dedication to this important cause displayed her caring spirit and desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Cheryl's contributions will continue to touch the lives of many who are affected by cancer—a testament to her enduring legacy.

A visitation in memory of Cheryl Linda Moseley will be held at in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 9:00 AM and until 2:30 PM. A Rosary will be recited by Shawn Melancon at 2:30 PM. The Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 PM following the rosary, which will be officiated by Father John Joseph.

Cheryl's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled. However, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched during her remarkable life. May we find solace in remembering the love and light she brought into our lives.
