Bubba passed away on Sunday, the 17th of January 2021.
The Cox family will receive visitors at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The family will hold a graveside service at Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama at a later date.
Charles was born on June 6, 1970 in Jacksonville, FL. He moved with his family to Church Point in 1980 and graduated from Eunice High School in 1988. There he won an Academic All State Award in football and received a scholarship to the Louisiana Scholars' College at Northwestern State University where he graduated in 1992.
Charles loved to read, grow heirloom tomatoes, to build and play guitars and explore nature. Most of all, Bubba was an avid Alabama football fan and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Ellen and Charles Cox, Sr. of Church Point, LA; his sister, Joella Cox Venable of Rayne, La.; his brother, John Bonneau Cox of San Francisco, CA; his niece, Charlene Ann Glover of Church Point, La.; his nephew, Steven Scott Glover of Lake Charles; his Uncle William Earnest Cox of Birmingham, AL and his Aunt Sara C. Haberman of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by many cousins, friends and his loyal Lab Duke.
