Charles Ray, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Bernard Ray, Sr. will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at 2:00pm in the St. Johns Chapel in Lewisburg. Rite of Committal will take place at the church cemetery. Monsignor Jeff DeBlanc and Fr. Stephen Ugwu will concelebrate the mass.

Mr. Ray, age 81, a resident of Lewisburg died on Saturday May 10, 2014 at Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. He was a member of the Louisiana Rural Water Association and employed with the LewisburgBellevue Water System for thirty years, receiving numerous awards including Operator of the Year and he created the LRWA Scholarship program. He took care of the St. Johns Cemetery for over thirty years. He enjoyed woodworking and agriculture. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica Richard Ray of Lewisburg, son Charles Ray, Jr. and wife, Stella of Ponchatoula, LA, daughter, Gina Ray Millett and husband, Donnie of Pearland, TX and one grandchild, Ben Arnona of Pontchatoula.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Ray, Jr. and Elmire Bourque Ray and a sister, Therese Ray McGraw.

The family has requested visitation be held on Monday May 12, 2014 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00am until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm
