A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Paul Hutchins, Jr, age 67, will be held in the St. John Catholic Church in Melville at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012, followed by the Rite of Committal in the St. John Mausoleum in Melville. The Reverend James Nguyen will celebrate the Mass.
Mr. Hutchins, who was a native of Bunkie and a resident of Melville, LA died on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Opelousas General Health System.
Paul served his country proudly in the United States Army both stateside and in Korea. He was the former state commander and a volunteer with the Disabled American Veterans. Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he was a former hunter education instructor.
Mr. Hutchins was happily married to Julia Sagnibene Hutchins of Melville for 47 years. He is also survived by his children, Chandler Paul Hutchins and his wife Peggy Hebert Hutchins of Port Barre, Frederick Charles Hutchins of Bayou Current and Jason Paul Hutchins and his wife Kristy of Palmetto brother Walter Hutchins and his wife Ruby of Lottie sister, Judy Hutchins of Houston, TX 7 grandchildren, Kayla Amanda Hutchins, Chandler Paul Hutchins, II, Hali Jane Hutchins, Savannah Hutchins, Marley Hutchins, Jacy Hutchins and Adalyn Hutchins and two great grandchildren, JohnMichael Hutchins and Charles Wade Hutchins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Paul Hutchins, Sr. and Aurelia Juneau Hutchins brother, Joey Hutchins and a sister, Gwendolyn Hutchins.
Visiting will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Melville. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
