A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Choo Choo Roy Doucet will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 1:00pm at the St. Peters Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. The interment will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery. Fr. Richard Vidrine will celebrate the mass.
Mr. Doucet, age 88, was a resident of Grand Prairie died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at his residence.
He was a veteran of WWII, a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion. A board member of Grand Prairie water system, a retired instructor at T.H. Harris Vocational Technical School, a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, past superintendent of Standard Fittings and was also a Eucharistic Minister.
Survivors include his wife Eugenia Genie T. Doucet, sons Charles Wayne Doucet and wife Ginger of Opelousas, Danny D. Doucet and wife Donna of Grand Prairie, step son Matthew Bordelon and wife Joanna of Houston, daughters Sharee Hunter and husband Michael of Lafayette and Tina Wyble and husband Mitch of Opelousas, sister Emma Lou D. Moory of Grand Prairie, 12 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, the mother of his children, Geraline P. Doucet, parents Marshall J. Doucet and Edna V. Hargroder, infant son John Merlin Doucet, brothers Quentin J. Doucet and J.C. Doucet and a sister Maebress D. Stanton.
The family has requested visitation be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 4:00pm until 9:00pm and will reopen on Friday at 9:00am. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00pm.
