Charles Cain

Funeral services for Charles Lynn Cain will be held on Monday July 21, 2014 at 1:00pm at Our Saviors Church in the Opelousas Civic Center. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Pastor Eugene Reiszner will conduct the services.

Mr. Cain, age 61, a resident of Opelousas died on Friday July 18, 2014 at his residence. He was an avid hunter, gardener, loved to camp and liked cooking for his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his hunting buddies at the Bushwhacker Camp. He also enjoyed being an active member of Our Saviors Church and participating in bible study and life group meetings. Charles was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was at his happiest with his wife, children and grandchildren during weekly Sunday family meals.

One of Charles primary goals during his battle with cancer was to inspire others to develop a relationship with Christ. His four year battle with cancer has been an inspiration to countless people and will continue to inspire others for many years to come.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Wilson Cain of Opelousas, son, Dustin Cain of Opelousas, daughters, Amanda Cain Borne and Celeste Cain Curry and husband Shawn also of Opelousas, brother, Louis Buster Cain and wife Shelly of Opelousas, sisters, Linnie Faye Cain Herpin and husband Randy of Opelousas, Mryna Cain and companion Johnny Doga of Opelousas, Mary Cain Beard and husband Carl of Centerpoint and three grandchildren, Trendon Blaine Borne, Adalyn Faith Curry and Cason Charles Curry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Warren Cain and Patricia Fontenot Cain, brother, William Willie Cain and a father in law, Willie Wilson.

The family has requested visitation be held on Sunday July 20, 2014 from 11:00am until 9:00pm and will reopen on Monday at 8:00am and will be held at LafondArdoin Funeral Home.


The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Deborah Johnson and staff with Lafayette Cancer Center.
