MRS. CELESTE PITRE LATIOLAIS

Funeral services for Mrs. Celeste Pitre Latiolais will be held on Saturday, July 29th, 2006 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with interment at Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Austin Leger will conduct the services.

Mrs. Latiolais, age 84, died Thursday, July 27th, 2006 at her residence. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society and the Rosary group, enjoyed her pokena groups and 1st Cousin group and was also involved with Council on Aging. She was a retired sales clerk at Anthony Department Store in Opelousas. Celeste loved her family and loved to cook and travel and the grandchildren and great grandchildren called her Maw Maw Les.

She is survived by 6 children; Clayton J. Latiolais and his wife Ludy of Opelousas, Elaine L. Guillory and her husband Allen of Opelousas, Roderick J. Latiolais of Lafayette, Betty L. Stelly and her husband Russell of Church Point, Joan L. Roy and her husband Jimmy of Opelousas and Pauline Latiolais of Opelousas; 1 sister; Theresa P. Dupre and her husband Seldon and a sister-in-law Ruby F. Pitre of Opelousas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Bart A. Guillory and his wife Karen of Opelousas, Craig J. Guillory of Opelousas Shane M. Stelly of Church Point, Andrew P. Latiolais of Opelousas, Dusty N. Stelly of Church Point, Clay D. Latiolais of Baton Rouge, Angela G. Hansen and her husband Leland of Sunset, Crista R. Theriot and her husband Shane of Opelousas, Alaina R. Vidrine and her husband Chad of Ville Platte, Kesia P. Fontenot and her husband Craig of Opelousas and Lynette P. Fontenot and her husband Keith of Lafayette, 16 Great-grandchildren; Gabrielle M. Hansen, Madeleine L. Hansen both of Sunset, Sophie L. Guillory, Cole A. Guillory, Chase C, Theriot, Carsyn A. Theriot, Devon S. Casse, Dylan E. Latiolais, Parker E. Casse, and Cade M. Theriot all of Opelousas, Kale J. Vidrine of Ville Platte, Kailey Latiolais and Josh Latiolais both of Opelousas, Avery Latiolais of Lafayette, Hunter A. Fontenot of Opelousas and Hannah M. Fontenot of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elie J. Latiolais, her parents; Odeah and Mina Pitre Pitre Sr., brothers; Odeah Pitre Jr, Clyde Pitre and Nolan Pitre, her sisters; Pauline Myrtle Pitre and Ena P. Vige and 1 granddaughter; Amie R. Casse.

Visitation will be observed today from 9:00AM to 10:00PM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00PM this evening. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July, 29th, 2006 from 8:00AM till time of service.
