Celeste Devillier

On March 2, 2014 at 3:00 am, Marie passed away at her daughters home in Gonzales, LA. She was born in Opelousas, LA on March 31, 1934. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt Big Nanny. Marie was married to the beloved late Joseph Cless J. C., Bubby Devillier for 34 years when he passed. She is preceded in death by: both her parents Viola Leleau Gay Richard and Adam Gay of Opelousas, LA, her beloved husband Joseph Cless Devillier, son Donald James Nig Nig Devillier of Baton Rouge, LA, brother, Joseph Ulysse Lessie Gay of Opelousas, LA, and great grandsons Cody and Brody Thibodaux of Church Pointe, LA. Marie was a devout Catholic, beautiful mother and an outstanding grandmother as well as sister, friend and aunt. She was a great cook and loved to dance and spend time with family.

She is survived by her four children: son Adam Earnest Billy Berryhill wife Patty of Liberty, TX, daughter Regina Marie Putt Devillier Blanchard of Maringouin, LA, daughter Roma Gail Pumpkin Devillier Allen husband Danny of Gonzales,LA and daughter Adonica Lynn Miss Nettie Devillier of Geismar, LA. Her three siblings: Roland Gay, Opelousas, LA, Iola Aunt Piecea Marks husband Wilbert TMarks of Port Barre, LA and Gloria Oliver husband Gilbert Cherry of Krotz Springs, LA. Marie was also survived by her 9 privileged grandchildren whom she adored, worshiped and spoiled: Tasha Yvette Blanchard, Danny Gene Allen Jr., Kerry Michael Blanchard, DeAnna Renee Allen Pastorchik, Billie Jo Berryhill Thibodaux, Micah Shane Courville, Mickie Lee Berryhill, Barbie Jo Allen and Shauni Lynn Courville. All 15 of her great grandchildren: Payton Jemison, Charles Jemison, Kade Armand, Madeline Blanchard, Matline Jemison, Baileigh Allen, James Thibodaux, Lance Thibodaux, Cameron Allen, Cristian Allen, Conner Allen, Emmaly Pastorchik, Kaitlyn Allen and Bentley Allen.

Marie will be placed to rest next to her beloved husband in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA. She made such an impact on everyones life and will be terribly missed by all who have been privileged to have known, love and be loved by her.
