Catherine Comeaux

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine Johnson Comeaux will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in the St. Landry Catholic Church, followed by Rite of Committal in the Bellevue Memorial Park. The Reverend Monsignor Louis Melancon will Celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Comeaux, age 79, who was a native and lifelong resident of Opelousas, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 9:05 a.m.

Catherine was a graduate of A.I.C., a member of the first graduating LPN class at T.H. Harris and was a faithful member of the Catholic Daughters. She was the owner of Johnsons Wholesale Meats and C R Western in Opelousas. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Joel Comeaux, Sr sons, Allen Comeaux and his wife Connie of Waynesville, N.C., Robert Bobby Comeaux and his wife Angel of Sunset, LA, Michael Comeaux of Arlington, TX, and David Comeaux and his wife Jill of Lafayette, LA daughterinlaw, Charisse Comeaux of Opelousas sister, Betty Johnson Baque of Opelousas 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Gertrude Peck Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Comeaux, Jason Comeaux, Joel Comeaux, III, Robert Comeaux, Casey Comeaux, Christopher Comeaux and Andrew Comeaux. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jake Brant.

Visiting will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will lead the rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
