Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Carrie Marie Vidrine Soileau will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at 10:00 am in the St. Landry Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Father James Brady will be the celebrant.
Mrs. Soileau, age 95, a resident of Opelousas, died Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home. She retired at the age of ninety four with her final thirty two years as a Senior Companion. She began her career in sales at American Department Store before heading to Anthonys Department Store. With the loss of her husband at an early age, she was always dedicated to providing the best for her children. She will always be admired for her independence, her amazing faith in action as well as her love for family.
She is survived by her son, Charles Warren Soileau of Opelousas and his late wife, Grace Soileau her daughter, Judy Daigle and husband, Shelton of Opelousas seven grandchildren, Stephanie Daigle LeJeune and husband, Steve, of Gonzales Jenny Daigle Busby and husband, Charlie, of Opelousas Harold Daigle and partner, Myke Yest, of New Orleans Lori Daigle Horvilleur and husband, Javier, of Houston Anita Soileau Champagne and husband, Scott, of Opelousas Sharon Janise Ortego and husband, Brad, of Opelousas and Charlene Janise Terricina and husband, Gordon, of Sunset fourteen greatgrandchildren, Katie, Aly, Nikki, Maggie LeJeune, Hunter and Scott Busby, Roman Horvilleur, William, Andre, Camille Champagne, Emily and Sarah Ortego, Mandy Hoffpauir, Benji Terricina two greatgreatgrandchildren, Gavin and Erin Hoffpauir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Joseph Soileau parents, John and Lelie Doucet Vidrine brothers, Harris Vidrine, Wilson Vidrine, Henry Vidrine, Hampton Vidrine sisters, Mattie Vidrine Sylvester, Lillian Vidrine Grimball, Aline Vidrine Soileau, Pauline Vidrine and Anna Vidrine.
The family has requested visitation be held on Monday, August 19, 2013, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.
