Carolyn Comeaux Johnson was born on January 20, 1957, in Lafayette, Louisiana. She departed this life on April 3, 2025. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and dedication, cherished by those who had the privilege to know her.
Funeral services for Carolyn Comeaux Johnson will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Russell Comeaux will conduct the services. Burial will follow in the Methodist Cemetery in Palmetto, LA.
The pallbearers will be Ben Johnson, Freddie Chautin, Eric Chautin, Ronnie Leger, Stetson Johnson and Brennon Arnaud. The honorary pallbearer will be Gannon Arnaud.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening by Father Clint Trahan. The funeral home will reopen on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
Carolyn dedicated 32 years to her career as a manager at Taco Bell, where her commitment and work ethic were evident. She and her husband were co-owners of Acadiana Wilderness Campground, further demonstrating their spirit and love for community.
Family was the heart of Carolyn's existence. She adored her son, Ben, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known to her grandchildren as “Mome” and to her nieces and nephews, as “Nan Nan”.
Known for her gracious personality, Carolyn was a great woman who was very helpful and loving. Her kindness touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on family and friends alike. She enjoyed sharing meals with loved ones and found delight in dining out, with favorites including Mexican, Chinese cuisine, and Pizza. Her love for DIET COKE was well-known among her family.
In her leisure time, Carolyn cultivated various interests. She enjoyed cross-stitching and found joy in reading books. She had a fondness for watching old game shows and keeping up with the latest episodes of "Fire Country” and " "Survivor," and her favorite soap opera, "General Hospital."
Carolyn is survived by her loving son, Ben Johnson (Lethi Champagne) of Sunset; her brothers, Melvin Comeaux of Krotz Springs, and Russell Comeaux (Ginger) of Camden, Arkansas; her sisters, Amy Chautin (John) and Ella Rose Guillory, both of Port Barre; her Godchildren, Jennifer Arnaud and Kristen Desormeaux; along with her beloved grandchildren, Madison Savoy, Stetson Johnson, Blakelyn Johnson, Taylor Stelly; her great-grandchildren, Brylor and Brylee Stelly and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel G. Johnson; her parents, Wilmer Comeaux and Ann Comeaux; her brothers, Wilbert Comeaux and Kevin Comeaux; and her sister, Judy McDaniel.
Carolyn's memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, who will hold her spirit close to their hearts. Her life exemplified love in its purest form, touching all who were fortunate enough to experience it.
