Carmella Barker

Krotz Springs Services for Carmella Ann Distasio Barker, age 71, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday July 1, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs, La., followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Rocky Warden will conduct the service.

Mrs. Barker, a resident of Krotz Springs, La., died on Friday, June 29, 2012, at her residence.

Carmella was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs and enjoyed Bible School. She loved and cherished her time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Gilbert Benoit of Boyce, La. David Benoit and wife, Paula, of New Iberia, La. Louis A. Barker of Krotz Springs, La. Boyd Barker and wife, Kitty, of Krotz Springs, La. her daughters, Malinda Majors and husband, Jesse, of Krotz Springs, La. Mary Lee Gros and husband, Jimmy, of Krotz Springs, La. Dinah Sylvester and husband, Roland, of Melville, La. her brothers, Jim Distasio and wife, Rena Donnie Distasio and wife, Mary Louis Distasio and Jerry Distasio all of Portland, Maine her sisters, Nancy Distasio of Florida and Mary Ann Moore and husband, Bobby, of Portland Maine. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie H. Barker her parents, Louis G. and Louise Dorazio Distasio her brother, Sam Distasio and her grandson, Hoby Jade Barker.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs, beginning on Saturday, June 30, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday until service time.
