Funeral services for Carlton Charles Johnson will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Reverend Tommy Mellinger and Reverend Chad Bolfa will conduct the services.
Mr. Johnson, age 98, a resident of Krotz Springs died on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1916. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 82 Airborne Divisions in WWII. While serving his country he was involved in the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Invasion. He faithfully served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs for 35 years.
He is survived by his two sisters in laws and a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Fran Wiltz for her many years of taking care of him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valerie and May Johnson wife Elsie McDaniel Johnson brothers, Joseph and Wesley Johnson sisters, Lillian, Eula, Nona, Evelyn, Birdie and Ronnie and two nephews, Dan and Louis Wiltz.
Pallbearers will be Jason Thibodeaux, Tanner Thibodeaux, Chad Bolfa, Carl Hooks, Clovis Cole and Howard Woody Wiltz. Honorary pall bearers will be Hunter Bolfa and Carter Thibodeaux.
The family has requested visitation be held on Monday December 8, 2014 from 10:00am until time of service at 1:00pm.
