Carla Barras

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Carla Prudhomme Barras, age 52, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, La. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery with Monsignor Keith DeRouen as the celebrant.

Carla, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Sunday, October 14, 2012.

Carla will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, John Alexander Barras of Opelousas, La. Savannah Jenee Barras of Baton Rouge,La. her brother, Gary Gene Prudhomme and wife, Jeanne, of Lawtell, La. her sisters, Paula Lejeune and husband, Norris, of Lawtell, La. and Alidia Fontenot and husband, Troy, of Youngsville, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Geneva Prudhomme her paternal grandparents, Edgar and Ella Prudhomme her maternal grandparents, Adeus and Frances Daigle her exhusband, John E. Barras and her companion, Ronald Bellard.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
