Carl Hooks

Krotz Springs - Funeral services for Carl Paul Hooks will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs, LA.  Brother Mike Devillier will conduct the services.  Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Carl Paul Hooks, age 74.  Carl passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Carl served his country proudly for eight years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Post of Krotz Springs.  He was retired from working as a carpenter and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed squirrel and rabbit hunting.  Carl enjoyed spending time with his church family and spending time with his own family, especially his grandchildren.  Carl will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Paulette Turner Hooks of Krotz Springs; his sons, Tommy Hooks and wife, Mindy of Livonia; and Todd Hooks and wife, Lauren of Leonville; his daughter, Tiffany Ann Hooks of Krotz Springs; his brother, Bobby Hooks and wife, Glenda of Zachary; and his sister, Kittie Hooks of Krotz Springs.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kaylee Dubroc, Grayson Hooks and Gage Hooks, all of Livonia; and Wyatt Hooks of Leonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Hooks, Sr. and Mary Stoute Hooks; his brother, Ira "Boo" Hooks, Jr. and his father-in-law, Earnest Turner and mother-in-law, Lela Mae Williamson Turner.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The funeral home will reopen on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Michael Hooks, Jeremy Turner, Brad Polotzola, Pat Turner, Jason Turner, Doug Turner and Jacob Hooks.  Honorary pallbearer will be Blake Hooks.
